Purpose of Position: Hexagon Mining develops intelligent collision avoidance systems for large vehicles used mainly in open-pit mining. Its products integrate satellite navigation, digital radio, multiple sensors and actuation systems as well as sophisticated algorithms to reliably predict dangerous scenarios and prevent accidents. It employs approx. 100 R&D staff in several attractive international locations. The software developer will join the team to develop this solution. Major Areas of Responsibility: Design, develop and support our server backend services and client tools used for the current and next generation of our collision avoidance and safety system. Collaborate closely with the hardware, firmware, and backend service development teams to realize new integrated solutions. Assist the product-introduction team and gain first-hand experience with our products. Bring in innovative ideas for further development. Knowledge and Experience - Required: Bachelor or master’s in computer science, Software Development, Electronics, or equivalent Engineering. 3+ years’ experience in C# on Windows and Linux, RESTful API, Docker, JavaScript. Experience with Test-Driven Development, Continuous Integration, or agile development processes (e.g., SCRUM) is beneficial. Knowledge in WinForms, React, MQTT, Kubernetes, development is a plus. Very good knowledge of English. Team oriented and able to work independently. Willing to travel to colleagues and customers overseas occasionally. Positive working attitude and good general common sense to understand business requirements in mining. Knowledge and Experience - Desired: Experienced in agile framework development environment. Travel: 5-10% You will work on products that could revolutionize the mining industry in the next 5 years.
