Given that, Johnson & Johnson innovative Medicine (JJIM) is currently recruiting for a Regional Market Access Policy Director, LATAM. This exciting position plays a key leadership role, partnering with our regional and local Market Access Community and the other functions and teams in LATAM (i.e. Gov Affairs, Comms, Strategic Affairs), in identifying and monitoring Market Access policy matters (evolving HTA systems, pricing regulations) within and across markets in order to develop strategies, execution plans and external stakeholders engagement for addressing it and enable broad patient access to medical innovation. This position also plays a key role partnering internally with Global stakeholders and groups to provide LATAM perspective, to support the development of enterprise policy positions and in supporting/influencing externally industry position development and leading industry association meetings. Mains Duties & Responsibilities: ü To be successful, you will have the ability to operate at a leadership level, influence internal and external stakeholders and be a self- starter. ü Serve as Market Access Policy lead for JJIM LATAM with special focus into HTA systems, value assessment and value frameworks, Pricing regulations for launch and post launch, healthcare systems and eco system design for public and private market, reimbursement pathways and healthcare funding. ü Using research skills and drawing on internal cross-functional expertise, Identify, seek out, analyse and collate evidence relating to policy positions under consideration and stakeholder behavior ü Write clear, concise and evidence-based positions, statements, policy submissions, letters and other advocacy tools and documents ü Monitor public sources and policy/ political alerts systems for issues and trends impacting JJIM operating environment ü Develops an in-depth understanding of the drivers for the key stakeholders groups (e..g. payors, policy makers etc) ü Develop internal networks and conduct stakeholder mapping and analysis to better understand policy issues and to develop appropriate advocacy plans ü Build organizational and individual capabilities and support succession planning to drive functional excellence by attracting, retaining and developing future talent in policy ü To be a strong team player and collaborate with different functions (i.e. market access, GA&P, and other business leaders in key LATAM markets) to develop and co-design tactical plans as well as stakeholder engagement plans, educate about our internal enterprise policy position ü To have passion in engaging with multiple stakeholders to shape healthcare systems and to ensure support for innovation and patient access exist, advocate for high-quality health care while making sure that evolving value assessment frameworks, HTA processes, pricing regulations recognize medical innovation. ü To represent participate into ensure an alignment on the main objectives for LATAM Access policy team in internal councils and policy forums establishing and maintaining strong working relationships across the Regional and Global J&J Government Affairs, Strategic Affairs working group and Corporate Affairs function. ü Providing support in some policy shaping efforts in emerging therapeutic areas of our business (requiring some product understanding) ü Work closely with, coordinate and align key third parties (Industry groups such as FIFARMA as well as other regional organizations, Trade Associations, patient groups, etc) through or with the local policy teams, advocating and driving a strong, aligned and effective industry voice around health care policy. Key Leadership Competencies: ü Ability to led and work effectively in a matrix organization. ü Excellent written and verbal communication, storytelling skills and presentation skills. ü Grasp complex ideas and is able to distill information to influence others. ü Strong problem-solving skills ü Ability to think critically, innovatively and have a strong business acumen. ü High intellectual curiosity, emotional intelligence, excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to partner effectively across an organization and externally to customers, suppliers, etc ü Ability to "change course" as needed. ü Raises the bar and is never satisfied with the status quo. ü Open to suggestions and experimentation for improvement ü Customer centricity mindset ü Culturally sensitive and aware given regional nature of the role Basic Qualifications: ü University degree (Bs, MBA, PhD, etc) in any field would be accepted however specific certificates on economics, international trade, political science, health economics, would be considered an asset. ü Previous experience and/or academic training in Pricing and Market Access would be an asset. ü Meaningful knowledge of the political & healthcare environment within multiple markets in critical LATAM markets such as Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Argentina would a critical capability ü Previous experience with health care policy within industry, trade associations and/or government will be highly considered. ü 8 years of experience within innovative industry (Pharmaceuticals, Medtech or any relate field) working for companies at those fields or working for companies at this field. Preferred Qualifications: ü Proven experience in leading trade association initiatives and working groups. ü Previous experiences societal/advocacy engagement initiatives as well as ü Experience in monitoring payer trends and evaluating key drivers for policy making decisions. ü Strong knowledge of pricing policies for pharmaceuticals & access regulations as well as deep understanding of the healthcare landscape in LATAM key markets ü Understanding of regulatory agency requirements or policies that govern market approval, and the impact on reimbursement decisions. ü Working knowledge of health economic, HTA submissions, reimbursement, and pricing negotiations ü 8 years of experience working for government agencies, pharma industry, trade associations with contact with market access and access policy projects and initiatives Location: ü The successful candidate can be based in any of the countries with JJIM offices in the LATAM region (i.e. Brazil, Mexico, Colombia) and the position will follow JJIM guidelines of flexible work with presence in any of those offices.
